Business Response Survey Overview

The 2022 Business Response Survey is a follow-up survey designed by the Bureau of Labor Statistics to measure the on-going response of U.S. businesses to the coronavirus pandemic.

The BLS is looking to understand telework, hiring, and vacancies in U.S. businesses. This information is particularly critical in understanding how the labor market has changed because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The survey includes twenty-one questions within three broad categories:

1.     Telework

2.     Hiring

3.     Vacancies

The survey should take about 5 minutes to complete including verifying the business’ mailing and physical location addresses and main business activity.  Your voluntary cooperation is needed to make the results of this survey complete, accurate, and timely.

The U.S. Business Response Survey is approved with O.M.B. No. 1220-0198. The Bureau of Labor Statistics, its employees, agents, and partner statistical agencies, will use the information you provide for statistical purposes only and will hold the information in confidence to the full extent permitted by law. In accordance with the Confidential Information Protection and Statistical Efficiency Act of 2002 (Title 5 of Public Law 107-347) and other applicable Federal laws, your responses will not be disclosed in identifiable form without your informed consent.
